Nikita Narvekar is a passionate mental health professional currently serving as a Psychologist at Ummeed Deaddiction And Rehabilitation Centre in Bangalore. As a psychologist at our centre, she is dedicated in addressing concerns surrounding drug and substance use, as well as various psychiatric illnesses. Through her role, she not only provides therapeutic interventions but also nurtures the personal growth of her patients. Hailing from Panaji, Goa, Nikita is proficient in English, Hindi, Marathi, and Konkani. Her proficiency in communication and interpersonal skills highlights her ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Nikita has earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Parvatibai Chowgule College in Margao, Goa. She further pursued her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, Karnataka. Her previous work experience includes 2 years’ experience of being a clinical trainee under supervision in Departments of Psychiatry across both private hospital setup like Kasturba Medical College and government hospital setup like Wenlock District Hospital in Mangalore. She possesses comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical experience in conducting psychodiagnostics assessments, providing psychotherapeutic interventions and counselling individuals across diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds.
Nikita practices an eclectic therapeutic approach that draws from a diverse range of modalities tailoring to the needs and concerns of the patients. She also brings extensive experience and unwavering dedication to supporting individuals grappling with anxiety, stress-related disorders, mood disorders and personality disorders. Additionally, Nikita is a certified queer-affirmative practitioner, demonstrating her commitment to providing therapy rooted in a queer-affirmative framework for patients who stand to gain from such support. She strives to foster holistic well-being for individuals under her care, empowering them to improve their lives in personal spaces as well as their interpersonal spaces.
